FAQ

  • Do I need to know Japanese?

Not at all — beginners are more than welcome.
The tour is designed for complete newcomers, with a focus on practical, easy expressions like greetings and simple shopping phrases. Our guides explain everything in English, and you’ll get tips on pronunciation and when to use each phrase. We also provide learning materials and support you step by step, so you can relax and enjoy the experience.

  • Is the tour family-friendly?

    Yes, it’s great for families.
Children especially enjoy learning greetings and numbers, and they love practicing with locals during the walk. If you’re bringing young children or a stroller, please let us know in advance so we can adjust the walking route. Safety is our priority, and we make sure the pace is comfortable for everyone.

  • What should I bring?

Just comfortable shoes and a bit of curiosity!
To make your walk even more enjoyable, we also recommend:

    ・A drink (especially in summer)
・Weather protection (umbrella, sunscreen, hat, etc.)
・A smartphone or camera to capture moments
・Small cash for snacks or souvenirs (many shops also accept cards)
・Learning materials will be provided by us.

  • Can I join if I only stay in Tokyo for 1 day?

    Absolutely!
Since the Nihongo de Tour is about 2 hours in Shibuya, it easily fits into short stays, even on your arrival or departure day. We can also adjust the start time when possible to match your schedule. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn, use, and experience in just a couple of hours.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum group size?

We welcome solo travelers, couples, families, and small groups. Larger private groups can also be arranged with advance notice.

  • Are there any age limits?

No strict age limits — participants of all ages are welcome. Children usually pick up greetings quickly, while adults enjoy the deeper cultural insights.
